Cloth Diaper Woes

by Jen on January 16, 2013

If anyone asks me I would say that we use cloth diapers. If you ask Dave the same question he would say that we wasted a bunch of money on cloth and mostly use disposable.

One of us is telling the truth, and I’m not telling you who!l

The truth is I LOVE our cloth diapers, but I am lazy. Like, super lazy. So lazy that sometimes the extra step (literally, one extra step) for cloth is just too. much. work. Now in all fairness, sometimes it really is hard to use cloth, like when we are traveling or over the holidays when we aren’t home enough to run a load of clothes through the wash, let alone a few cycles of diapers.

But… for the most part, cloth is super easy. Put insert in diaper. Put diaper on baby. Put dirty diaper in pail. Throw everything in the wash every few days.

So why do I avoid cloth sometimes? Because, shit happens. And it only happens when I forget to put the flush-able insert in. So, see, I really am lazy, because who can’t remember to put the stupid insert in the diaper? (Me. The answer is me.)

Happy Mothering. And for the record, my child is currently contained in her high chair wearing a cloth diaper and insert. I guarantee she will not poop.

Haha! I guarantee Hannah will poop in hers before I get her from her nap!
